Yes. Presuming the cold sore on the lip is caused by HSV1 then you
could transfer HSV1 to your partner's gens. Approx 30% of new genital
herpes cases are thought to be caused by HSV1, received primarily
through oral sex. Genital herpes of the HSV1 variety is general less
severe than that caused by HSV2. Some people with it will only
experience one outbreak. Some may not show any overt symptoms, but
may still be capable of passing the disease on.
