Cold Sores and pregnancy

Question:
This unfortunately is my introduction this time around, I posted about 2 years ago when I was pregnant with my first. Currently I am 19weeks prego with a baby girl and doing great. My problem is this weekend I had what I am thinking is a coldsore come up next to my lip, well at first I thought it was a pimple and messed with it. Sunday I had an itching sensation and noticed that it appeared to spread across my face in a rash like appearance. Just now my lower cheek felt itchy and I looked in the bathroom and it appears to be spreading even further. It looks very rashy, dry and red. I have applied Zinc Oxide to it in hopes that it will help for the time being. Is this a typical coldsore or something else? I usually get a coldsore on my lip maybe once or twice a year and its easily treated with OTC Abreva ointment (can I even take Abreva while pregnant?) but its never looked like this. I am going to call my OB tomorrow and ask what I can take but it usually takes until the end of the day for him to return my phone call, does anyone have any recommendations or remedies I can use in the meantime

Answer:
I once had a coldsore that went like that. I had a graze on my chin and the coldsore spread to. Maybe your immunity is a bit lowered because of being pregnant. It was huge and really really gross when it scabbed! Ask that pharmacist about the cream.
