Cold Sore - When is it safe to kiss again?

Question:
I've been a long time cold sore sufferer, and am just getting over a cold sore I got last Tuesday (not this past Tuesday, but the one before that). It's almost gone, and in fact, it might be gone, however on it's lip color but you can just barely see an outline of where it was. How much longer until it heals? Is it safe to kiss in its current state?

Answer:
Seriously! It's wonderful that you don't want to spread your cold sores, but do remember, they are only cold sores. If you don't feel like getting the Zorovaccs ointment, maybe you can give abreva a try. It's available over the counter. Susan's advice for a kissing policy is sound. You want to take care, but there's no need to think your kissing days are done! There's nothing cataclysmic in cold sores.
And on another note altogether, has anyone found that herpes *improves* your sex life? My boyfriend and I have "discovered" that the same nerve paths that are prone to unpleasant tingling and the like are also very sensitive to pleasurable stimulation. maybe it's not really a correlation and it's only in our minds or it's always been the case, but it does seem to be more sensitive, pleasantly so on occaision.
