Question:
A most pesky borderline-cold has begun plaguing me.
You know the kind, really don't feel bad enough to stay
home, but don't feel good either. While I've been taking Tylenol, the
folks around me have encouraged that I try some home remedies... hot
chicken soup, herbal lemon grass tea, hot mustard compress, lemon with li
hing mui, etc... ! Any kind home remedies? Any home
remedies to stay swear by?
Answer:
I got this surprising remedy from my Chinese doctor. It's good for the raspy
throat type of cold. Heat up Coca Cola with sliced ginger root and squeeze in
some lemon. I have used it successfully.
I have also used a mixture of hot tea, Grand Marnier, honey and lemon. And of
course a sauna.
During last year's flu season, I drank some awful tasting herbal concoctions
whenever I started coming down with the latest flu strain. I was always better
the next day, though, while other people in my building would be sick for
weeks.
