Question:
My female cat (10 months) began sneezing about a week ago. At first, she
was only sneezing once a day but in the last couple of days she has been
sneezing a lot more. This morning she has been sneezing about once every
5-10 minutes. Are there any home cold remedies for cats? Are there any
alternatives to bringing her to the vet?
Answer:
It would be really hard for anyone on here to get a good idea of what's wrong
with your cat from you rpost. It's probably as simply as a cold, but who
knows. Personally, I would want the vet to see her - just in case. Has she
had all of her vaccinations? Is she indoor/outdoor?
The problem with home remedies without a vet visit is that you're going on a
hunch, or assuming that it's a 'cold', without knowing for sure. *If* there
is something starting that is more serious, the prognosis is almost always
better if it's caught early. And if it's nothing to worry about, your vet
can probably dispense some antibiotics or whatever he/she feels is necessary.
