Question:
I have spread canker sores from my mouth to my girl parts.
Not the regular cold sores, but the smallish
mouth ulcers I seem to get on the inside of my cheeks when I eat
chocolate or peanuts.
I found the Mayo clinic online which does not list cankers as herps, or
herps as cankers.
Really, its the same thing, right? If I took that western-whatever-herpes blood test, what would it show?
I of course assume and act like it is herps, since I can pass it to
myself I would guess I can pass it to someone else
Answer:
Canker sores are not herpes. Nor are they contagious. Canker sores are
usually caused by some sort of mouth trauma or eating certain foods. They
are found inside the mouth.
Oral herpes is usually called cold sores and they are found on the outside
of the mouth on the lips or around the nose. Oral herpes can indeed be
passed to the genitals.
The question is what is it that is on your genitals.
Since canker sores are not herpes, then a western blot would tell you if you
have herpes that you are not aware of.
