| Canker Sore |
Question:
I have never gotten canker sores until very recently. I don't have
them in a large quantitu by any means--I have a small painful now; I
had another two within the last two months, both several weeks apart.
The only hygenic change I have undergone lately is dating a new
person. Do I need to be worried about this?
Answer:
canker sores are aphthous ulcers, and are not related to Herpes,
not even Herpes SIMPLEX (a dentist should have known that ;)
they will probably go away in 10-14 days, in the meantime you can try
Tanac (OTC medication) or a wet tea bag (both contain tannin),
increased vitamin C and yogurt are also known to help.
you can also throw more chemicals at it, local pharmacy will
have plenty to choose from.
also, etiology of canker sores is unknown, but some believe there is a
stress
connection
