Question:
Does anyone know how to relieve or get rid of canker sores in a child's mouth?
My daughter (10) has a cluster of them on the inside of her cheek. It is
causing her severe pain and she won't eat or drink. The doctor was no help, he
only said it would go away in a week or so. That was 2 weeks ago.
Just hoping that someone here has a good old remedy for these nasty things
Answer:
Canker sores can be very painful and sometimes rinsing with salt water
and other remedies just can't make them feel good enough fast enough.
If your daughter can stand a bit of a sting for a short period of time,
try Zilactin. It puts a protective coating on the sores that feel
amazingly good. You can eat and drink after the medicine dries like you
never had the sore to begin with. It does burn when you first put it on
though, but I think well worth it. Just make sure to put a thin coating
on. If it's too thick, it will peel off sooner. We use a cool blow dryer
to dry it quicker. A strange sight but it works
